K-Drama Filming Locations Seoul Tour 2026
2026 self-guided tour of iconic K-drama filming locations in Seoul — Squid Game, Crash Landing on You, Goblin, Reply 1988, Itaewon Class.
K-drama filming locations have become a parallel tourism industry — Squid Game alone added 200,000+ Seoul visits in 2022. This 2026 guide covers eight iconic spots from the most-streamed K-dramas, with subway access, what to actually see (most are public spaces), and which require entry tickets. Tip: avoid the most-photographed weekend afternoons; weekday mornings give the best photos.
Iconic four — Squid Game, CLOY, Goblin, Reply 1988
Squid Game red-light/green-light playground (Seonyu-do, Line 9) — replica installation in the riverside park, free entry. Crash Landing on You (CLOY) Seoul Forest scenes were filmed at Seoul Forest Park (Line 2 Ttukseom) — free, photo spots well-marked. Goblin's iconic buckwheat field is in Gangwon (Yangyang) but the Seoul scenes were filmed at Deoksugung Stone-Wall Walkway (Line 1/2 City Hall). Reply 1988 alley scenes were filmed at Ssangmun-dong, near Mia Station (Line 4) — preserved 1980s alley feel, very photographable.
Itaewon Class, Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha, Vincenzo
Itaewon Class (Park Sae-ro-yi's "DanBam") was filmed at Noksapyeong Station Exit 4 area (still operating as different bars now). Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha's Gongjin village is actually Pohang's Cheongha Beach (3.5h KTX from Seoul). Vincenzo's tower scenes used Seoul's Jongno tower complex; the cassano restaurant scenes were filmed at Songdo. Reply 1994 university scenes used Yonsei University campus (Line 2 Sinchon — public access). All free entry.
Tour logistics
Most filming locations are public, free, and open year-round. The exceptions: filming-set replicas at amusement parks (Lotte World had a Squid Game zone, ₩45,000 day pass) and dedicated K-drama studios (Korea Film Council's K-Wave Land in Yongin, ₩35,000). For a one-day tour, Subway Lines 1-2-4-9 cover 80% of Seoul filming spots; budget 6–8 hours and pack snacks. KKDay and Klook offer guided K-drama tours with English guides for ₩70,000–120,000 — useful if you want narration.
K-drama tour tips
- Weekday mornings 9–11 a.m. avoid weekend tourist crowds at popular spots.
- KBS, MBC, and SBS broadcast headquarters offer studio tours with sets — verify open dates.
- Most filming locations have no English signage — Naver Map or Kakao Map for navigation.
- For Squid Game / CLOY 2024–2025 series, locations are still being added — check Soompi or KCrush forums for latest.
- Photography is fine in public spaces but ask before entering small businesses.
Is Squid Game season 2 filmed at the same Seoul locations?
Some, yes — the Seonyu-do playground replica was retained for fan visits. Studio scenes use closed sets (off-limits). The waiting room corridor was rebuilt at a Goyang studio (private).
Is the Goblin field in Seoul?
No — the buckwheat field scenes were filmed at Hajodae Beach in Yangyang, Gangwon (3h drive or KTX+bus from Seoul). Seoul-set Goblin scenes are at Deoksugung's stone wall walkway.
Where can I get K-drama merch?
KBS, MBC, SBS broadcasting stations have official souvenir shops. Online: SBS K-Plus, Wavve store. KKDay sells popular drama theme bundles. Avoid unmarked merch at market stalls — quality varies.
Can I tour an actual K-drama set?
Limited — most filming sets are private studios. K-Wave Land (Yongin) has accessible re-creations. CJ ENM and Studio Dragon occasionally open Han Studio for limited tours.
