Why go

Anbandegi Village is a famous high-elevation cabbage-and-potato farming village in Gangneung, Gangwon, set at about 1,100 meters above sea level on the slopes of Mt. Manhwabong as one of Korea's highest farming villages. The village's distinctive landscape — dense cabbage-and-potato fields stretching across rolling high-elevation hills, with broad open mountain horizons in every direction — has made it one of Korea's most-photographed agricultural landscapes. Visitors can drive (or take provided shuttle) along scenic mountain-road paths through the cabbage fields during the growing-and-harvest season, with viewing decks at peak ridge points. Best in late summer through early autumn (cabbage growing season), with the harvest period in late autumn providing the most active landscape. Pairs naturally with broader Gangneung-and-Daegwallyeong highland itineraries.
