관음사
전라남도 성덕산에 있는 관음사는 백제 분서왕 3년(300) 성덕보살이 세운 절이다. 절 이름은 성덕보살이 낙안포에서 금동관세음보살상을 모셔와 절을 짓고 이름을 ‘관음사’라 부른데서 비롯되었다고 한다.고려 공민왕 23년(1374) 5번째로 넓혀 지었고, 조선시대에는 임진왜란으로 피해를 입어 선조 37년(1604) 5년 동안 모든 건물을 복원하였다.근세에 와서는 1912년 영담화상이 전가람을 고쳐 세웠으나 한국전쟁으로 모두 불타버렸다. 이 때 국보로 지정되어 있던 원통전과 금동관음보살이 소실되었다.지금 있는 건물들은 최근에 새로 지은 것들로 금랑각을 지나면 가운데에 법당인 원통전이 있고 그 왼편과 오른편에 벽안당과 요사채 등이 있다.
