Busan Marine Natural History Museum

Busan Marine Natural History Museum is the dedicated public museum on the marine ecology of the Korean coast, with permanent galleries covering the East Sea (deeper, colder, with substantial pelagic species), the Yellow Sea (shallow, mudflat-rich, biodiversity hotspot), the Jeju subtropical waters, and the broader Korean coastal fishing economy. The collection includes about 25,000 specimens (mounted fish, mollusks, marine mammals, and invertebrates), substantial reconstruction dioramas of coastal habitats, and bilingual interpretation contextualizing Korean marine biodiversity within the broader Northwest Pacific record.
