Why go

Busan Songdo Beach in Seo-gu is Korea's first official modern beach — opened in 1913 — and was for decades the city's premier seaside destination before Haeundae overtook it. Today the beach has been carefully redeveloped: a 365-meter cable car runs across the bay between Songnim Park and Amnam Park, the Songdo Skywalk extends 400 meters into the sea on a curved suspension trail, and a glass-bottomed observation cruise circles the bay. The historical layer plus the modern attractions make this a more interesting Busan beach than its size alone suggests. Best on weekday afternoons. Pair with Amnam Park's coastal trails and Jagalchi Market for a full Seo-gu day.
