Cheonho-dong Rose Village

Cheonho-dong Rose Village in Seoul's Gangdong-gu is a themed community rose-garden district in the residential Cheonho-dong neighborhood, where a local resident-led beautification project has transformed a series of alleyway walls and small pocket-parks into a continuous rose-themed walking corridor. The project began in the early 2010s as a small local urban-beautification effort and has grown into one of eastern Seoul's most-cited spring-photography destinations, particularly during the mid-May rose peak. The rose-village walking route runs about 1.5 km through the residential district, with the densest rose plantings concentrated around the central Rose Village Park and along the adjacent alleyway walls. Peak bloom is typically the second and third weeks of May, when the corridor is at its most photographic — outside the bloom window the district is a quiet residential area with only modest rose-themed remnants. Free access (residential district). Allow about 90 minutes at peak bloom. Best on weekday mornings during peak bloom to avoid photography-tourist crowds. Access: 10-minute walk from Amsa Station (Line 8, Exit 4). Pair with Amsa-dong Prehistoric Settlement Site (5-minute walk) and the broader Gangdong-gu cultural attractions.
