Deogyusan National Park) is a curated attraction in Korea — full details, hours, and access info on the official Korea Tourism page.
Why go
Deogyusan National Park is a 230-square-kilometer mountain park spanning Muju, Jangsu, Geochang, and Hamyang counties — Korea's fourth-largest national park by area, anchored by Hyangjeokbong (1,614 m), the second-highest peak in the southwestern Korean mainland. The park's central feature is the Gucheondong valley with its 33 scenic spots, complemented by the Jeoksang section to the north (Jeoksangsan and the historic mountain fortress) and a network of high-elevation ridges accessible by the Hyangjeokbong cable car. Winter snow on the upper ridges is famously dense and visible from much of southern Korea. Best in winter (snow), late spring (azaleas) and autumn (foliage). Plan multiple days for full coverage.
