Dorisan Observatory (도리산전망대)
Dorisan Observatory is a curated attraction in Korea — full details, hours, and access info on the official Korea Tourism page.
Why go
Dorisan Observatory looks across the Demilitarized Zone toward North Korea from the closest civilian-accessible viewpoint inside the DMZ tour route. The platform is reached only by official tour bus and after passport check, which makes the visit feel less casual than other observatories. From the deck, on a clear day you can see Kaesong industrial buildings, the propaganda village, and farmland inside the North. Binoculars on the rail bring the cooperation farms into focus. It is paired in the standard tour with the Third Tunnel and Dorasan Station, the unfinished cross-border railway terminus. The combined half-day tour is the best way to grasp the still-active reality of the divided peninsula.
