Gucheondonggyegok Valley (구천동계곡)
Gucheondonggyegok Valley is a curated attraction in Korea — full details, hours, and access info on the official Korea Tourism page.
Why go
Gucheondong Valley is the central scenic valley of Deogyusan National Park in Muju, a 25-kilometer stretch of granite and quartzite stream-cut canyon that has produced 33 named scenic spots — the so-called "Gucheondong 33 Sights." The valley's main road follows the stream past polished pools, sequenced waterfalls, and pine-and-maple forests, with paved walking decks at the most photogenic points. Highlights include Sigyeongdam pool, Insangdam waterfall, and Baekryeonsa hermitage at the upper reach. The full walk through all 33 spots is over 5 hours, but most visitors do a 2-hour selection. Best in summer for water and autumn for foliage. Pair with Muju Resort and the Tageosak observatory.
