Gudam Village (구담마을)
Gudam Village is a curated attraction in Korea — full details, hours, and access info on the official Korea Tourism page.
Why go
Gudam Village is a 600-year-old hanok village in Imsil, Jeollabuk-do, set in a hidden basin surrounded by low ridges and threaded by a single quiet stream. About forty traditional houses survive in the village, most still inhabited by descendants of the founding clan. Unlike polished tourist hanok villages, Gudam stays a real residential village — narrow lanes, kitchen gardens, persimmon trees in autumn — and visitor signage is minimal. A short interpretive walk loops through the village in about an hour, and the surrounding stream-side path adds another forty-five minutes. Best in autumn for the persimmon trees and stream foliage. Pair with Imsil Cheese Theme Park and a countryside lunch.
