Gungpyeonghang Port (궁평항)

Gungpyeong Port is a working fishing port on the western coast of Hwaseong, Gyeonggi-do, set up as one of the metropolitan area's nearer-to-Seoul West Sea coastal-fishing destinations. The port combines a working harbor for the local fishing fleet with a tourist-facing seafood-restaurant strip, fresh-fish wholesale-and-retail market, and a long sunset-viewing pier that reaches out into the bay. The port is widely cited as one of the most accessible West Sea sunset spots within day-trip reach of Seoul, with the sun setting directly over the open water and the long pier framing the view. Casual seafood restaurants near the pier serve raw fish, grilled fish, and spicy seafood stews from the day's catch. Best timed around sunset, ideally on a clear evening, paired with a Hwaseong-area drive itinerary.
