Gyeongbokgung Palace
The grand main palace of the Joseon Dynasty — best in the early morning when crowds are thin.
Why go
Gyeongbokgung, the grand main palace of the Joseon Dynasty, was first built in 1395. Walk through Geunjeongjeon throne hall, Gyeonghoeru pavilion set on a still pond, and the quieter back-garden Hyangwonjeong. The Royal Guard Changing Ceremony takes place at the main gate several times daily.
