Why go

Haneul Park ("Sky Park") sits on top of what was once Seoul's massive Nanjido landfill, capped and replanted in 2002 as one of the Worldcup Park ecological complex's signature features. The hilltop opens onto vast grass and silver-grass meadows with sweeping 360-degree views — Han River and Bukhansan to the north, the Worldcup Stadium directly below. Wind-driven ripples through the late-autumn silver grass have made this Seoul's most photographed pampas-style scenery, drawing crowds for the annual Eulalia Festival. The climb is steep — about 290 stairs from the parking area, or take the eco-tram. Best at golden hour. Free entry. Pair with the World Cup Stadium and DMC area.
