Hyangchon Cultural Center (향촌문화관)
Hyangchon Cultural Center is a curated attraction in Korea — full details, hours, and access info on the official Korea Tourism page.
Why go
Hyangchon Cultural Center in Daegu is a public cultural-arts complex in the historic Hyangchon-dong district, repurposed from a 1912 Japanese colonial-era retail-and-residential building. The complex combines a museum on the surrounding Hyangchon-dong historical district (with its substantial 1950s-1960s post-war Korean cultural heritage), an exhibition gallery for contemporary art, and a 200-seat performance hall. The building's preservation of original colonial-era and post-war architecture as part of the visit is the curatorial bias — the cultural center is itself a layered architectural-historical document. Free entry. About 90 minutes. Pair with the broader Daegu central city walking tour.
