Jeju National Museum

Jeju National Museum is the dedicated national museum on Jeju Island's distinctive cultural and natural heritage. The collection covers Jeju's prehistoric and Tamna-kingdom material (Tamna was the independent island state that existed alongside the Three Kingdoms before Goryeo absorption), Joseon-era island life, the haenyeo women free-diver tradition, and the volcanic geological context that shapes everything Jeju. The museum holds about 9,000 objects, with substantial bilingual interpretation that treats Jeju as a distinct cultural-linguistic region rather than a peripheral mainland appendage. Free entry.
