Jeongok Prehistory Musuem

Jeongok Prehistory Museum in Yeoncheon, Gyeonggi-do, is a dedicated public museum on the Jeongok-ri Paleolithic archaeological site — one of Korea's most significant Paleolithic sites and the first documented Acheulean-type hand-axe site in East Asia (discovered 1978, which reshaped Asian Paleolithic archaeology). The Jeongok-ri site has yielded substantial Acheulean hand-axes and other Paleolithic stone tools dating to roughly 300,000 years ago, and the site's discovery challenged the previously-held view that Acheulean hand-axe technology had never reached East Asia.
