Jogyesan Provincial Park (조계산도립공원)
Jogyesan Provincial Park is a curated attraction in Korea — full details, hours, and access info on the official Korea Tourism page.
Why go
Jogyesan Provincial Park is one of Jeollanam-do's signature mountain parks, anchored by two of Korea's most important Buddhist monasteries — Songgwangsa on the western flank and Seonamsa on the eastern. The 884-meter peak rises in a cluster of forested ridges with several traditional pilgrimage trails connecting the two temples over the saddle, the most popular about an eight-kilometer five-hour route. Beyond the temples, the park is known for its dense beech and oak forest and a long ridge with sweeping coastal views. Spring and autumn are the prime seasons. Plan a full day for the temple-to-temple hike, or split into two half-day temple visits. Pair with Suncheon Bay wetland reserve.
