Why go

Jukseong Catholic Church on the cliff above Jukseong Beach in Busan's Gijang-gun is technically a film-set construction — built in 2009 for a Korean drama and never consecrated as a working church — but its dramatic setting on the bare seaside rocks has made it one of Busan's most photographed spots. The small white-and-blue stone chapel sits exposed to the East Sea wind, with a ring of low rocks below and an enormous pine tree on the headland just south. There's no entry fee and the chapel is essentially a photo destination. Best at sunrise or in clear midday light. Pair with the Jukseong Sky Cafe terrace and a Gijang seafood lunch.
