Korea Gasa Literature Collection (한국가사문학관)
Korea Gasa Literature Collection is a curated attraction in Korea — full details, hours, and access info on the official Korea Tourism page.
Why go
Korea Gasa Literature Collection in Damyang is the dedicated public museum on Korean traditional gasa poetry — a specific Joseon-era poetic form that combined Korean vernacular language with classical Chinese literary structure, producing some of the most celebrated works of pre-modern Korean literature. Damyang specifically was the birthplace and primary writing setting for many of the gasa canon's most important works (Jeong Cheol's Gwandongbyeolgok, Songgangbyeolgok, etc.), making this museum's location naturally connected to the source. The collection includes original gasa manuscripts, period photographs of literary settings, and bilingual interpretation contextualizing gasa within broader Korean literary history. Free entry. About 90 minutes. Pair with Damyang's gasa-literature corridor sites.
