Why go

Korean Folk Village (Hanguk Minsokchon) in Yongin, Gyeonggi-do, is one of Korea's largest and most-visited open-air folk-village museums — a comprehensive recreation of pre-modern Korean village life across the country's various regional traditions, set in a large outdoor park covering about 245 acres. The site preserves and recreates traditional Korean architecture from across regions — yangban estates, farmer thatched houses, market settlements, fishing villages, mountain hermitages — alongside live craft demonstrations (blacksmithing, pottery, weaving, traditional musical performances), ritual-and-ceremony reenactments, and traditional Korean food experiences. The site is also a frequent filming location for Korean historical TV dramas. Best given a full day, paired with broader Yongin-area itineraries (Everland is nearby), particularly during seasonal festival events.
