Goha-do Yi Sun-sin Memorial Site is the dedicated public memorial site on Goha-do island in Mokpo, Jeollanam-do — the small island where Admiral Yi Sun-sin established his naval-base headquarters during the 1597 Myeongnyang Battle preparation phase, one of the most decisive Korean naval engagements of the Imjin War. The memorial preserves substantial documentation of Yi's strategic preparations on Goha-do, period naval-warfare reproductions, and bilingual interpretation contextualizing the broader Imjin War. The Goha-do location is accessible from the Mokpo Marine Cable Car (its upper terminus is on this island), making the memorial a natural complement to the cable-car visit. About 75 minutes.
