영산포역사갤러리

Yeongsanpo Historic Gallery is a public local-history exhibition space in the Yeongsanpo area, a historic riverside port that played an important role in regional commerce during the Joseon and early modern periods as one of the inland-river ports along the Yeongsan River that handled shipping between the inland agricultural areas and the coastal trade routes. The gallery walks visitors through the history of Yeongsanpo as a working port, the inland-river shipping system, the colonial-period transformation of the port, and the area's gradual decline as modern transportation made river shipping obsolete. Period photographs, archival documents, scale-model reconstructions of the port at its peak, and interpretive panels anchor the displays.
