Why go

Seonyudo Trail is the walking loop on Seonyudo, the Han River island in central Seoul that was previously a water-treatment plant and has been preserved with the plant's original concrete-and-industrial structures intact, then converted into a landscaped park with the industrial bones still visible. The trail threads walking paths between preserved water-treatment basins now planted with reeds, ponds, and wildflowers, with industrial concrete walls and pipes left as integral landscape features rather than removed. Visitors reach the island by pedestrian bridge and walk a continuous loop around and through the park's various themed zones. The combination of preserved industrial heritage and contemporary landscape design has made the Seonyudo Trail one of Seoul's most-cited urban walking experiences. Pairs naturally with Yangwhajin Foreign Cemetery and the Han River cycle path.
