Why go

Juam Lake Eco Wetland is a designated wetland-conservation area along the shore of Juam Reservoir in southern Jeollanam-do, with about 2 kilometers of boardwalk threading through reed marsh and shallow open-water habitat. The wetland was created when the reservoir was constructed in the 1980s and has since been recognized as a significant migratory-bird habitat — herons, egrets, and seasonal Eurasian teal flocks are commonly spotted. A small visitor center provides bilingual interpretation on the wetland ecosystem. Free entry. Best in early spring or late autumn for migratory bird watching. About 90 minutes for the boardwalk. Pair with Juam Lake Sculpture Park or Suncheon Bay wetland.
