Mohang Beach (모항해수욕장)
Mohang Beach is a curated attraction in Korea — full details, hours, and access info on the official Korea Tourism page.
Why go
Mohang Beach lies on the western coast of Buan in Jeollabuk-do, between the more visited Byeonsan and Gyeokpo beaches and quieter than either. The beach is a long flat stretch of fine sand backed by pine windbreak forest, with a gentle wave break suited to families and beginning surfers. A small fishing village just behind the beach maintains a few seafood restaurants and family-run pensions. The Mohang Pension Strip is one of the more affordable lodging clusters along the West Sea coast. Best in mid-summer for swimming. The beach gets a magnificent West Sea sunset most clear evenings. Pair with Naebyeonsan trails inland or Chaeseokgang cliffs to the south.
