Why go

Oedolgae is a sea stack rising twenty meters straight out of the water off Jeju's southwest coast in Seogwipo. The basalt pillar — formed by sea erosion isolating it from the cliff — is one of Jeju's most photographed landmarks and anchors a short coastal cliff trail with views of Sammaebong, Munseom, and Hallasan. The complete loop, including the stack viewpoint, takes about an hour and is mostly easy walking with a few stairs. A handful of small cafes and seafood spots cluster at the trailhead. Sunsets here are exceptional, with the stack silhouetted against the orange water. Pair with Saeyeon Bridge and the Seogwipo Maeil Olle Market for a half-day on the south coast.
