Why go

Rajetongmun is a 50-meter natural rock tunnel on the border between the historic Silla and Baekje kingdoms — the name literally combines "Ra" (Silla), "Je" (Baekje), and "tongmun" (passage gate). Carved by stream erosion through a limestone ridge over millennia, the tunnel was an actual border-crossing point during the Three Kingdoms period and later between Joseon administrative provinces. Today it is a short walking site with a small park, a stream-side path, and a cafe at the entrance. The visit takes only about thirty minutes including the photo stop inside the arch. Best in spring when surrounding cherry blossoms bloom or autumn for foliage. Pair with the broader Muju area attractions.
