Sejong University Museum

Sejong University Museum in Seoul's Gwangjin-gu is a university-run public museum on the Sejong University campus, dedicated primarily to Korean traditional folk art and craft — particularly folk paintings (minhwa), ceramics, embroidery, and small-scale traditional-life artifacts. The collection was assembled over decades from the founding family of Sejong University and includes both nationally significant folk-art pieces and a substantial working-teaching collection used in the university's Korean studies programs. Permanent exhibits combine themed rooms on specific folk-art traditions (a room dedicated to minhwa tiger paintings, another to Joseon-era wedding embroidery, another to traditional ceramic-craft techniques), rotating special exhibitions curated around specific themes, and interpretive material on the broader Korean folk-art canon.
