Why go

Seosulla-gil is a quiet stone-walled lane in central Seoul, running along the eastern wall of Jongmyo Royal Shrine in Jongno-gu. Long known among Seoulites as one of the city's most atmospheric walking spots — the wall is genuine Joseon-era masonry, and the trees overhanging it turn brilliant in autumn. The lane has slowly filled with small jewelers, independent cafes, and craft workshops without losing its low-rise scale. Most visitors don't realize this is the back wall of a UNESCO World Heritage site until they look at a map. Free to walk. Pair with the Jongmyo morning tour and Insa-dong for a day of compact central Seoul history.
