Solomon Law Park

Solomon Law Park is the official law-themed experiential learning center operated by Korea's Ministry of Justice, with two locations — this Daejeon site is the original (opened 2013 as the first regional branch), and a Busan branch (batch 9 same-day). The park combines a small museum on the history of Korean law (from Joseon-era Gyeonggukdaejeon legal code through modern constitutional law), full-scale courtroom replicas where visitors can sit through mock trials in costume (with 30-40 minute scripted trial sessions), and themed rooms exploring constitutional rights, criminal procedure, and famous historical cases. Programs are designed for school groups but the public is welcome and many activities are free. The mock-trial sessions in particular are surprisingly compelling — they're written to be educational rather than dry, and cover both civil and criminal procedure. Bilingual Korean/English support on the main exhibits (with translated program summaries for the mock trials). Free entry. Reservations recommended for mock-trial sessions. Allow about 2 hours. Access: 15 minutes from Daejeon Complex Terminal by taxi or local bus. Pair with the Daejeon Hanbat Arboretum (Korea's largest man-made urban arboretum, 5 minutes east), the Eunhaeng-dong cafe district, and the National Science Museum for a Daejeon family day.
