Suwon Jidong Mural Village (수원 지동벽화마을)

Suwon Jidong Mural Village is a residential mural village adjacent to Suwon Hwaseong Fortress, set on the slope above the fortress walls where the working residential neighborhood of Jidong-dong has been preserved through the city's hanok-village heritage planning and restyled as a continuous mural-art lane. Local artists and the city worked together to paint murals along the alleys, stairs, and old building walls, with the murals threaded through the broader Hwaseong cultural-heritage context. The walking route threads narrow alleys, courtyard houses, small artist studios, and cafés, with views back toward the historic fortress walls visible from many points. Best paired with the Hwaseong Fortress walking experience for the contrast between UNESCO heritage architecture and contemporary mural-village street art.
