The Battle of Myeongnyang Memorial

The Battle of Myeongnyang Memorial is located next to the narrow strait called Uldolmok, between Haenam and Jindo. Uldolmok is the site where Admiral Yi Sunsin, under his command, defeated over 300 Japanese warships with only 13 Korean ships during the Japanese Invasion of Korea in 1592 (1592-1598). The exhibition hall commemorates the Myeongnyang Battle and displays weapons used during the Japanese Invasion of Korea in 1592. Visitors can also observe the turbulent currents of Uldolmok from the skywalk. Official location: 12 Gwangwang leisure-ro, Munnae-myeon, Haenam-gun, Jeonnam-Gwangju Special Metropolitan City.
