The Phoenix Jeju Glass House (글라스하우스)

The Phoenix Jeju Glass House is a Tadao Ando-designed glass-and-concrete building on the Phoenix Resort grounds in southern Jeju, set into the resort landscape as a striking architectural piece in its own right that combines exhibition, restaurant, and viewing functions. The Glass House represents Tadao Ando's signature aesthetic — clean concrete walls, large-scale glass surfaces opening to the surrounding landscape, geometric volumes, and a precise relationship to its setting. The building includes a fine-dining Italian restaurant on the upper level (Mint Restaurant), a viewing terrace with broad coastal views, and lower-level event and exhibition spaces. The site is part of a Phoenix Resort cluster that includes other Tadao Ando-designed buildings (Genius Loci, Bonte Museum) on the same grounds, making it a destination for architecture-tourism travelers.
