Woojebong Observatory

Geoje Woojebong Observatory is a hilltop coastal viewpoint on Geoje Island in Gyeongsangnam-do, set on the upper slopes of Woojebong (about 235 m) on the island's southern shoreline. The observation deck sits at a viewpoint that gives broad open-sea panoramas over the South Sea — including the offshore islands of the Hallyeohaesang National Park's coastal cluster, and on exceptionally clear days the silhouette of distant Tsushima (about 60 km southeast) — with the surrounding Geoje coastal landscape filling out the lower frame. The viewpoint is reached by a marked walking trail that climbs the upper slope from the Haegeumgang parking area (about 30 minutes each way at moderate difficulty). The trail is the standard extension to the Haegeumgang boat cruise — most visitors combine the two: a boat cruise around Haegeumgang's dramatic sea-cliffs from Jangsungpo or Haegeumgang Village, followed by the Woojebong climb for the aerial view back down onto the same cliff cluster. Best timed at sunrise or in clear-weather windows for the strongest panoramic view, paired with the broader Geoje Haegeumgang coastal route and other Geoje-area headland viewpoints (Windy Hill, Sinseondae) for a full southern-Geoje coastal day.
