Why go

Gangnam is the broad commercial-and-residential district south of the Han River in Seoul, anchored by Gangnam Station — one of the busiest subway stations on Earth. The neighborhood is the closest thing Korea has to a Manhattan-style luxury district, dense with high-end fashion flagships, plastic surgery clinics, K-beauty boutiques, and corporate skyscrapers. By night the side streets light up with restaurants, lounges, and the well-known Gangnam Style of nightlife that became globally famous in 2012. It's most useful as a hub: shop and eat around Gangnam Station, then radiate out to Apgujeong-rodeo for fashion or Sinsa-dong's Garosu-gil for cafes. Best on weekend evenings for full energy.
