망우역사문화공원

Manguri History and Culture Park is a public memorial park in eastern Seoul, set on the slopes of Mt. Manguri as Korea's largest historical-cemetery-and-memorial site. The cemetery has been the burial site for many of Korea's most significant 20th-century cultural-and-political figures, including writers Bang Jeong-hwan and Han Yong-un, painter Park Soo-keun, sculptor Lee Jung-seop, and political-and-cultural figures from the colonial-era through the early modern period. The site combines burial-and-memorial walking paths through the wooded grounds with interpretive markers and commemorative monuments. Walking the park has become a meaningful form of cultural pilgrimage for travelers interested in 20th-century Korean cultural history, and the surrounding Manguri-area landscape provides quieter natural respite from central Seoul.
