Why go

Inwangsan Forest Rest Area is a public forest rest space on the slopes of Inwangsan, one of Seoul's four traditional inner mountains, set up as a forest-bathing-and-walking rest stop along the broader Inwangsan trail network. The site combines short marked walking trails through the mountain's pine-and-broadleaf cover with sheltered rest areas, viewpoints back across central Seoul, and informal seating throughout the forest interior. Inwangsan rises to about 338 meters above sea level and offers some of central Seoul's most underappreciated mountain-walking experiences. Spring brings new green growth, summer the canopy's distinct cooling effect, and autumn full ridge color. Best paired with the broader Inwangsan trail network and the Joseon-era city wall (Hanyangdoseong) walking circuit that runs along the ridge.
