Jeongseon Memil Jeonbyeong Festival celebrates Jeongseon's signature soba-pancake-style dish — a thin buckwheat crepe rolled around seasoned vegetables or kimchi — that grew from the area's mountain agriculture. The festival sets up tasting and live-cooking booths with regional Jeongseon recipes, runs cooking demonstrations and competitions, and adds traditional music and arirang-themed performances tied to the area's heritage. Memil (buckwheat) is a regional ingredient that does not always get attention abroad, and this festival is an unusually focused way to compare different versions side by side.
