Why go

Jincheon Bell Museum in Jincheon, Chungcheongbuk-do, is the dedicated public museum on Korean traditional bronze bells — a craft tradition in which Korea is internationally celebrated for producing some of the largest, most acoustically refined bells in the pre-modern world. The collection includes about 200 bell pieces (full bells, fragments, casting molds, mallets), substantial documentation on the bell-casting technique that produced the celebrated Silla-period Sangwonsa Bell and Emille Bell, and bilingual interpretation contextualizing Korean bells within the broader East Asian bell tradition. Hands-on small-bell-casting workshops are available with reservation. Free entry. About 90 minutes. Pair with the broader Jincheon-area attractions or the Cheongju area.
