Why go

Old Punggug Confectionery Factory (Now Orion) is a preserved early-20th-century industrial-architecture site in Seoul, originally built as the Punggug Confectionery factory and now part of the Orion confectionery group's broader corporate-architectural heritage. The building is a registered modern cultural property reflecting the Western-eclectic industrial-and-commercial architecture of late-colonial Korea, with brick-and-stone construction, factory-floor layout, and supporting structures preserved from the period. The site combines technical-and-architectural significance — showing the development of Korean confectionery industry through the colonial period — with a distinct early-20th-century industrial-architecture aesthetic. Best for travelers seriously interested in early-modern Korean industrial-architecture history, paired with broader Yongsan-area heritage itineraries.
