Jatyanggi Purunsup Resort (Pine Fragrance Green Forest) is a Korea Forest Service-managed recreational forest in Gapyeong, Gyeonggi-do, specifically themed around the Korean pine (jat-namu / Pinus koraiensis) — the tree that produces the celebrated Korean pine nut (jat) and gives Gapyeong its most-cited traditional agricultural product. Gapyeong pine-nut cultivation dates back centuries and the trees themselves grow to substantial size (30+ meters) with a distinctive resinous fragrance that gives the forest its name. The complex combines forest cabins and dormitory accommodations, marked walking trails through the pine plantation (with several themed sub-trails: the pine-fragrance path, the cone-collection educational trail, and a barrier-free access loop), an interpretive center on Korean pine botany and cultivation, a pine-nut retail area, and hands-on programs (pine-cone processing, seasonal harvest experiences in autumn). Reservations for cabin nights are made through the Forest Service portal (foresttrip.go.kr) with typical 3-month advance booking. Pine-nut harvest season runs September-October, when the site is at its busiest and the interpretive programs are most active.
