Tteok Museum

Tteok Museum in Seoul is the dedicated public museum on tteok — Korean traditional rice cake, a foundational food category covering hundreds of regional and ceremonial varieties used across Korean life cycles, holidays, and daily meals. The collection includes about 2,000 tteok-related objects (period preparation tools, ceramic molds, traditional containers), a substantial gallery on the role of specific tteok varieties in different Korean ceremonies, and bilingual interpretation explaining the symbolism of each variety. Hands-on tteok-making workshops are available with reservation, and the on-site cafe serves a substantial selection of regional tteok varieties for tasting.
