Compare a relaxed island walk with an activity-focused day, check what your ticket includes, and plan the return journey before adding another Gapyeong stop.

Choose a purpose before choosing a season

Nami Island is a river-island outing in the Bukhangang area, reached from the Gapyeong side. A walk among the tree-lined paths, a family activity and a Winter Sonata filming-location visit are different reasons to come. Choose the one that matters to your group instead of assuming an autumn photograph defines every worthwhile visit.

For photography, check recent operator updates close to your date. Colour and leaf fall vary with weather; a fixed two-week peak is not a booking guarantee. If the trip date is fixed, plan something you would still enjoy without peak foliage.

Understand the admission ticket

Checked 23 October 2026: the operator lists standard-boat admission at KRW 19,000 general, KRW 16,000 concession and KRW 13,000 special concession. This ticket includes the return boat crossing. Confirm the concession evidence before purchase.

Accompanied individual infants under 36 months qualify for free admission under the published conditions. A child who has reached 36 months is not automatically free. Keep the journey and island time separate

Start with your arrival and return transport, then work out how much time is actually left on the island. Include the station-to-wharf connection, boarding, food and breaks. A train arrival at Gapyeong is not arrival at the ferry queue.

The operator publishes different intervals through the day and additional seasonal sailings. Save the return departure you intend to use and an earlier alternative. An evening island visit is only useful if your onward transport still works after reaching the mainland.

Compare the zip-wire routes carefully

The official activity page distinguishes the family course towards Nami from the adventure course towards Jaraseom followed by a motorboat transfer to Nami. These are not simply two slopes landing at the same place. The listed prices are KRW 55,000 and KRW 58,000 respectively; the return boat is included.

Build a day with room to change it

For a walking day, choose one main tree-lined area, a quieter route if available, and a break. For a family day, pick one activity first and organise the walk around its availability rather than stacking every attraction into the same afternoon.
