Jinjuseong Fortress is a curated attraction in Korea — full details, hours, and access info on the official Korea Tourism page.
Jinjuseong Fortress occupies a high bluff above the Namgang River in central Jinju, with stone walls dating in part to the late Goryeo dynasty and reinforced through the Joseon era. The fortress is most famous as the site of the 1592 First Battle of Jinju and the 1593 Second Battle, both decisive engagements of the Imjin War. Within the walls today stand the Chokseongnu Pavilion — counted among Korea's three great traditional ru pavilions — a national museum, several memorial shrines, and the cliff-edge spot where the courtesan Nongae is said to have leapt to her death holding a Japanese general. Allow two hours. Strikingly lit at night during festival season. Pair with the Lantern Theme Park.
