Why go

Mujinjeong is a 16th-century Joseon pavilion in Haman, Gyeongsangnam-do, built on a rocky outcrop above a small stream pond and reflecting pond. The wooden pavilion itself is small, but its setting — a stone-bridge approach across the reflecting pond, with old pines hanging out over the water — produces what photographers consider one of the most cinematic Joseon pavilion scenes in the country. The pavilion is most striking on still mornings when the entire structure doubles in the water mirror, and during the autumn maple peak in early November. The annual Mujinjeong Lantern Festival in the fourth lunar month strings paper lanterns across the pond. About 45 minutes for a focused visit.
