Somangjinsan Lantern Theme Park

Somangjinsan Lantern Theme Park overlooks the Namgang River in central Jinju, dedicated to the Jinju traditional silk-paper lantern craft that culminates in the city's annual October Lantern Festival. The park keeps a permanent display of large festival-style lanterns lit nightly along the riverside, with views directly across to Jinjuseong Fortress and the city. A small lantern-making workshop, a lantern museum, and a wishing wall make the visit interactive. Best after dark, especially during festival week when the entire river basin lights up. Free for the river walk; lantern-making and museum entry ticketed. Pair with Jinjuseong Fortress and a riverside dinner.
