Andong Folk Village

Andong Folk Village is the reconstructed traditional-village complex adjacent to the Andong Folk Museum (batch 3 verified) in Andong, Gyeongsangbuk-do, one of Korea's more substantial reconstructed-village heritage sites. The village combines traditional Korean houses (hanok) that were relocated from communities flooded by the 1976 Andong Dam construction — the dam project displaced dozens of traditional villages, and the significant historical houses were carefully disassembled and reconstructed on this Wolyeong Bridge-adjacent site to preserve the architectural heritage. The reconstructed village houses represent a range of Andong-region hanok styles — yangban aristocratic houses (with the characteristic Andong Kim clan and Andong Kwon clan architectural detail), commoner farmhouses, ancestral shrines, and the working-agricultural infrastructure that supported traditional Korean village life. Wolyeong Bridge itself — the longest wooden pedestrian bridge in Korea at 387 meters — is a signature attraction that connects the village grounds to the surrounding Andong landscape. Free village access. Allow at least 90 minutes for a focused walking visit; 3-4 hours for the full Village + Folk Museum + Wolyeong Bridge circuit.
