Why go

Aranggak is a wooden shrine-pavilion on the cliff just below Miryang's celebrated Yeongnamnu, dedicated to the legendary maiden Arang of Joseon-era Miryang. According to the local legend, Arang was a magistrate's daughter wrongly killed and whose ghost demanded justice from successive magistrates until the truth was revealed. Generations of Miryang residents have honored her at this shrine, and it remains an active local memorial site. The shrine itself is small — about ten minutes to view — but the cliff setting above the river is striking, and a stone path connects it directly to Yeongnamnu above. Pair with Yeongnamnu and the Miryang riverside night-illumination walk.
