Jeonju Zoo

Jeonju Zoo is the city zoo of Jeonju, set on a wooded hillside in the city's Wansan-gu area. The zoo combines outdoor enclosures for various mammals (Korean roe deer, Asian black bears, monkeys, and others), bird aviaries, a small reptile-and-amphibian house, and a children's play-and-petting area, with walking paths threading the wooded grounds. The zoo is a working public zoo rather than a polished tourist attraction, and the wooded hillside setting gives the visit a different character from open-plan modern zoos. Programming includes feeding sessions, educational programs scaled for school groups, and seasonal special events. For traveling families with younger children visiting Jeonju, the zoo works as a half-day family stop, paired with broader Jeonju Hanok Village and Wansan-gu itineraries.
