Dalgi Mineral Spring [National Geopark]

Dalgi Mineral Spring is the centerpiece of Cheongsong's UNESCO Global Geopark in northern Gyeongsangbuk-do, a naturally carbonated spring that bubbles iron-rich water straight up through volcanic rock. The fizzy, slightly metallic taste is unusual enough that people fly in to try it. A simple stone basin lets you fill bottles for free, and a short forest walking course around the spring takes about thirty minutes. The water is also the basis of Cheongsong's signature dish, dalgi-baekban — rice cooked in the mineral water, which gives it a faintly orange tint. Pair with the dramatic Juwangsan National Park nearby for a strong full-day combination.
